Overview |
"A bucket has suddenly been placed on top of you.."
Catte (simply pronounced as Cat) is an orange feline Raytraxian.
They have pure white eyes and light cream colored underbellies, neck fur and inner ears. They also usually have bright orange buckets on their heads.
Players mutated by a Catte do not have a bucket on their head like those mutated normally do, but they are able to pick up new orange buckets found around the map.
Abilities
Bucket Drop (Death)
When killed, the bucket from a Catte's head will drop to the ground, waiting to acquire a new host to transform; however, humans wearing a Hazmat Suit cannot pick up the bucket, saving them from mutation.
Eject
Cattes can eject the bucket they have on their head. After ejection, the Catte is able to re-obtain their bucket by finding another one around the map and stepping on it, which does not include the recently ejected bucket or a bucket dropped via another player. The ejected bucket will despawn after 30 seconds if it is not picked up.
Slip Hazard
Cattes may use their bucket to create a row of puddles in front of them. To create a puddle, the Catte must have "Slip Hazard" tool equipped and then click/tap the screen to create a row of orange puddles. If a human steps in these puddles, they will be ragdolled and take 5 damage.
For every puddle placed, the ability cooldown increases by 6 seconds, for a total of 36 seconds if every puddle is successfully spawned. If a puddle attempts to spawn in an invalid location, it will be ignored by the ability and not spawn at all.
Puddles may be stepped in multiple times by survivors, but the puddles disappear after 15 seconds.
Stat | Value |
---|---|
Raw Damage | 27 Damage (user) |
Tool Cooldown | 2.5 Seconds |
Ability Cooldown | 36 Seconds (6 per puddle placed) |
Effects | Ragdoll |
Transformation (Blackout Only)
Cattes can transform into Bucks during Blackouts if they eject their previous bucket and apply a black bucket found around the map.
Removed Abilities
Spill
Cattes are capable of creating hazardous puddles from the contents of their buckets. Clicking/tapping your screen with the bucket held will cause Catte to pour a puddle, which deals 10 damage on every new puddle made, and only 1.75 damage when enlarging an existing puddle. Humans who make contact with the resulting puddle will receive 30 damage per instance; however, if they are wearing a Hazmat Suit, the damage dealt is 18 per instance instead.
The puddles disappear after 15 seconds regardless of any amount of human interaction, but any amount of interaction from the Spill ability will reset this timer.
Acquirement
Catte can be acquired by walking over an orange bucket from anywhere around the map, dying to a Catte puddle or by being directly mutated by another Catte, though you won't have the bucket upon mutation from the latter two. It takes about 23 seconds to be mutated after putting on an orange bucket.
When donning a bucket, the following message will appear:
"A bucket has suddenly been placed on top of you.."
Bestiary Entry
A clumsy feline most notable for their striking orange coat, these creatures perhaps lack the intellect to acknowledge or fully understand danger that surrounds them. That, or they quite certainly do not care if or when they are being hunted, and often greet a predatory Raytraxian in the midst of their lengthy stalking. Other Raytraxians have picked up on this behavior, which result in them either being left alone out of pity, or an easy meal. Catte particularly are been observed to each have a special bucket, of which they will wear atop their head, excessively clean, and obsessively take care of. If at any point a Catte were to grow unhappy with their bucket, they've been known to part with their beloved item and simply find a new one - breaking all observable bonds with their original hat. What abruptly makes a bucket undesirable is unknown. When you originate from a janitor thinking chucking buckets at reactive cores is funny, you don't tend to be that bright. |
Tips
Please note that most things listed in this section are not objective, and are not the "Correct" way to use them. This section is used to give advice to players who want to learn how to use their tools more efficiently.
- Catte is very good at shutting down large areas of the map via covering it in buckets and puddles, so it's recommended to set up a puddle in a place where a lot of humans travel through, such as the Cafe Gate, Hound Room, and Garden.
- Your puddles only last around 15 seconds, so it's usually not a good idea to leave your puddle's general area unless you either have another Catte take care of it or don't care about the puddle disappearing.
- It is impossible for Catte to put puddles anywhere inside the Flooded Area, Cafeteria and the Freezer, so it's not recommended to be near those areas unless you don't plan on staying.
- For easy access to playing as Buck, it's usually a good idea to just play as Catte and wait until the event starts, rather than playing another Raytraxian and trying to guess when it happens.
- Catte's unique ability to create puddles on the floor allows you to secure yourself an area to wait near buckets instead of resorting to using the smaller puddles around the map.
- Due to the fact that Catte's abilities are more versatile and easily usable, while Buck's are more difficult and event-locked, some would prefer to avoid playing as Buck if they have a high mutate streak.
